Dear Tom,

I would like to formally thank you for your assistance to St. Christopher's Biuldmgs and Grounds Committee. No Catholic Parish can truly do the Lord's work and serve the needs of parishioner in todays world without a lot of help from good people.

Our Faith leads us to serve the Lord 'in many ways and your helping Bill Callahan and our committee address the deterioration of our buildings has been a gift from God. For too many years, financial stress has caused St Christopher Parish to igiiore or put aside the physical needs of our buildings. With your help and the hard work of many parishioners we hope to begin to address these needs.

Our funds have reached a point that we are now able to add on a new roof. What other needs we will be able to address is uncertain, for we have another 5 0% to still raise. Never-the-less, I am hopeful that with our buildings growing safer with better roof systems - we will have the chance over the long haul to get the job done. (If we really ever get done with maintenance.)

Bill told me that you are active in the Vincent de Paul movement. What a wonderful way to say thanks to God as we serve the needs of the poor. I'm not sure if you are aware of our vincent de Paul group here, but be assured they are active and at times, I'm afraid, overworked. Each year they require over $20,000 to assist the poor in our area. And that amount does not count the hundreds of pounds of food and other general assistance that they give to those 'in need. Even that, of course is never really enough - they do their best.

Last month they received over $19,000 from oiu Advent Lun 'man'a Campaign. I would also Re you to know that we will also be giving them over $1,400 from the parish to assist them in their work. In your name and with your prayers may we continue to express the Gospel mandate to serve those in need with respect and love.
